Harvest Monday- July 23, 2012

This week was my smallest harvest in quite some time.  Do to all the rain this week I could not get into the garden until today.  Everything was still wet, so only the beans on the edge of the patch and pole beans could be harvested.

'Cornetto Largo Verde' pole beans and 'Velour' bush filet beans.
Harvest Monday is hosted by Daphne's Dandelions.  Stop by and see what other bloggers have harvested this week.

  1. Very nice bean harvest. My beans are still about a week away from being ready. I can't wait. I hope your garden dries out soon.

    1. This should be the prelude to much bigger bean harvests. The bush beans are loaded and the pole beans aren't far behind.

  2. Beans are very nice! Mine are winding down so need to wait for next batch to grow.

    1. Thanks Jenny! That's why I like pole beans. Once the bush beans are spent, they will be producing until the end of the season.

  3. Yum beans. I've been eating them twice a day recently. For lunch they are cold and for dinner they are hot. I think tonight I might grill them.

    1. I've never tried them grilled. My favorite way to eat them is sauteed in olive oil with garlic.

    1. I'm hoping for a growth spurt too. I noticed today that the later planted pole beans are now loaded with buds.

  5. Can I send you some zucchini? Please? LOL!

  6. Sure can, you know the address, LOL!

With the vine borer problems around here, I'm lucky to get any zucchini when I try to grow it.

    1. LOL, I do have a package ready to send to you, but I don't think it's big enough to hold the zucchini! I'm sending you pink hollyhock seeds, both light pink and dark pink.

    2. Maybe if you shred it first?

  7. I hope the rain gives you a break soon so you can pick the rest of that bean patch!
