First Flowers of the Season!

Imagine my surprise when I went out this morning on a walk around the yard and found a patch of crocus in full flower, basking in the morning sun.

Here is a close up.

My 'Ice Follies' daffodils are well advanced for Feb as the bud stems are starting to elongate.

Photo's from previous years put the stage of growth for these bulbs in mid March!  I guess I better get busy as the season looks like it's going to be a month early this year.

  1. Very nice, you definitely have a way with flowers. I am very weak in that area. I can't wait for Spring.

  2. Kris, thanks. I've grown flowers almost all my life. Vegetables are new to me and are presenting quite the challenge. I'm getting a good case of spring fever myself.

  7. Love how early some Daffodils come out and bloom. Those crocus are beautiful. Amazing that the seeds contained what they needed to germinate. Congratulations on a successful experiment. Definitely and early spring this year!
