Last Weeks Harvest

Not much from the garden last week.
Above, the last of the spring lettuce.  'Flashy Green Butter Oak' to the left and 'Galactic' to the right.
Above, 'Summer Jewels Red' salvia is putting on quite a sow for the 4th.  They remind me of red sparklers.

It looks like this is going to be a banner year for peppers.  The plants are growing great and loaded with small peppers!

The 'Victor' tomatoes are finally starting to ripen.  The plants are LOADED with tomatoes.  I counted over 50 fruit on one.

Harvest Monday is hosted by Daphne's Dandelions.

  1. The salvia is very pretty lined up along side of the pool.

It sounds like you are going to have a bumper crop of peppers and tomatoes this year!! 50 fruits on one plant...boy that is something!

  2. That Victor sounds like an interesting variety. It looks like a banner year for peppers and tomatoes here too. Last year was not so good.

  3. Your successes this year are my failures! I'm so hungry for tomatoes and peppers, the first being slow and the latter practically nonexistent. I picked one small pepper, but now I don't have a single blossom on 12 plants :-(

    Your flowers are always lovely.

  4. My tomatoes plants are full as well, but they are ripening slowly. I think I am a bit impatient this year...

  5. Robin- Thanks! The salvia did shine for the holiday. Let's hope those tomatoes taste good!

Villager- Last year was a bad year for me too. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this year.

Granny- I have peppers in three locations. In the PSP they are getting shaded out. They are doing great in the flower beds which are in very exposed locations.

Sage Butterfly- I usually don't get my first tomato till August, so this will be a first for me.

  6. I hope your tomatoes start to come in soon! oi wown't be getting any for quite awhile... But I can just live vicariously through other people's successes until mine come in.

Your salvia is very pretty. We just purchased a few plants... although I think it was a blue flowering variety... And put them on the border of our garden. Hopefully they fill out to be as attractive as yours!

  7. The lettuce looks lovely. I'm finally picking lettuce again after not sowing a succession crop fast enough. I don't know how long it will last though as the heat has been really bad recently.

  8. Hope you enjoyed the last of the spring lettuce! Any kind of homegrown lettuce in July is a good thing, right? The blooming salvia plants are very pretty, I don't think I've ever seen them in person before.
