Pea's- Five Flowers per Stem!!!

I was stunned when I went to look at the 'Garden Sweet' peas.
There were stems that had four and five flower buds!!!  I've grown peas that consistently produced two flowers per stem with an occasional three.
Check out the pics below.

I've never grown this variety before.  It is supposed to be a "super sweet" variety with 30% more sugar.  I'm sold already on the productiveness.  If it is as sweet as advertised it will definitely become my #1 pea.

    1. I thought so too. I'm not a Burpee fan, but they seem to have a good variety with this one.

  2. OK, I might just have to start growing peas again! I said I wasn't going to waste the space any more (although I did that little tepee of them with some free seeds this year). Last year the yield just wasn't worth the space they took in the garden. How tall does this variety get?

    1. Granny, they are under 24 inches mine aren't staked and don't sprawl that much. I only have nine plants as the were started under lights. These nine plants have well over hundred flowers and buds, and the buds keep coming.

    2. That would make them worth growing, as I could intensively plant an entire 4x4 bed with them. I did the tall peas last year (or maybe it was the year before) and I got like 2 cups of shelled peas from a 10'wide x 6' high x 1' deep area of the kennel garden. I had always planted wide beds of Little Marvel before, with much better yields.

  3. WOW! That's very impressive! What variety is it? I will have to order them for next year because mine are less than active this year.
