The April showers seem to have missed the memo that April is over.
This is the fifth day in a row we have been having rain.
From what I can see out the windows, Swiss chard, cabbage lettuce and arugula in the pool bed are loving it. I'm hoping that when the sun finally comes out, I'll have a huge growth spurt like Granny.
So what I have been doing you ask?
Dangerous things!!! I've been surfing iris websites for the passed three days and imagining how I can squeeze in a few dozen new ones, dangerous thinking...
We're finally getting some sunshine today after several days of rain, so I also hope for a growthspur.
ReplyDeleteI'm keeping my fingers crossed for some sun tomorrow. Good thing I did a bit of fertilizing over the weekend.
DeleteYou are as addicted to flowers and lettuce as I am to corn. What did we all do before the Internet came along? LOL
ReplyDeleteslow day at the office lets me browse through pictures.
DeleteWhat did we do? Waited by the mailbox for the catalogs to be delivered and then went through them till they fell apart!
DeleteWell, the temperature plummeted by 14 degrees this afternoon, it went from a lovely, sunny 75 down to 61 in just a couple of hours, and now we have a freeze warning, 31F, for tomorrow morning. It never freezes here the second week in May! Heck, it's supposed to be 92 on Monday!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like the temperature variations I get here. Just consider yourself lucky that you don't get the cold air that pours over the mountain.
DeleteI blame the rain. Hey, if you can't garden outside, you have to garden inside.
ReplyDeleteExcellent thought, of course now I have a very long list of plants I have to have!
