Have To Have It!

Every once in a while a plant comes out that, on first sight, I have to have.  Yesterday I found one, vinca 'Jams n' Jellies Blackberry', a recently awarded 2012 All America Selection.

Vinca 'Jams n' Jellies Blackberry'

I'm thinking that these may be the focal point of my pot's surrounding the pool, maybe with orange marigolds.  Now I only have to find the seeds from a company that doesn't charge $6 to ship one or two packs of seed.

  1. What a beautiful color Ed. Postage is outrageous isn't it.

  2. Lona, the color is amazing. Postage has gotten way out of hand, I've stopped buying from several companies because if it.

GrafixMuse, my jaw literally dropped when I first saw the picture. I'm hoping it looks that good in person.

  3. Postage costs are just ridiculous. I've been wanting a fresh packet of Fortex to replace my crossed varieties, but no way would I pay $8 and up for a pkt. of beans! I'll just be very careful to keep all the lavender blossoms cut off of any plants I grow this year, and hope I can save some "true" seeds.

  6. Granny, Outrageous postage is my pet peeve, and it is the big seed companies that are the worst offenders. How is that the smaller ones can offer excellent seed and reasonable postage?

1st Man, The color does make me think of rich velvet. I'm going more and more for this type of color, excellent in pots that are up close.

  7. Been browsing your blog for a little while now. I happen to have a surplus of Petite Orange Marigold seeds I saved from last year if you are interested.
I donated a bunch to wintersown.org this year but still have a jar full.
I'd be happy to send some your way!
