I do have some netting though, the burning bushes need to be covered in late summer to prevent birds from completely defoliating them. I had to resort to bird netting last year....have you ever tried to untangle pea vines from that stuff? It was the sparrows that were eating mine, and I had them living in birdhouses in the garden! This year I glued jar lids over the openings, so they can't nest here any more. Sorry, but they were just too destructive to the garden.
